Mahyar Khosravi, P.Eng.
Chairman & CEO
As Chairman and CEO, Mahyar oversees strategy and execution, while facilitating relationships and partnerships for Nitride Global. Over the past 20 years, he has worked with several companies of various sizes on technology strategy and engineering processes, utilizing emerging technologies to create automation and efficiencies. Through these roles, Mahyar has had the opportunity to work with sector leading companies such as Shell, Exxon Mobil, Rio Tinto, Saudi Aramco, Keppel, FANUC, Daimler, and BMW, amongst many others. In addition to his role at Nitride, Mahyar also currently serves as an advisor and board member to a number of companies, including Pocket Pills, The Pyure Company, Garmentier, and Dianomix.
Brian Soller, Ph.D., Optical Science
President
Brian is a seasoned business executive and entrepreneur with over 25 years of experience in development and leadership roles, driving growth across the telecommunications, defense, aerospace, and medical industries. With a deep expertise in photonics and semiconductors, Brian has consistently delivered exceptional results through strategic leadership, operational excellence, and a commitment to customer-focused innovation.
Before joining Nitride Global, Brian held various management and C-level positions at Luna Innovations, where he played a pivotal role in transforming the company from a start-up to a public, global leader in fiber-optic sensing systems. As President of Nitride Global, Brian continues to leverage his vision and expertise to deliver sustainable growth, driving value for clients and stakeholders worldwide.
Memo Romero, MEng
Vice President, Advanced Packaging
Memo is a power electronics semiconductor expert and entrepreneur with over 33 years of experience in advanced thermo-mechanical packaging technologies, focused on wide band gap power module design, simulation and technical innovation. A graduate of MIT and Stanford, Memo holds over 24 US patents and numerous publications related to advanced power electronic systems.
Prior to joining Nitride Global, Memo held senior engineering positions at Motorola, Semipower Systems, Amulaire Thermal Technology, and principle at Rinehart Motion Systems LLC (now Cascadia Motion). Memo is a founder of several companies, including MaxQ Technology, where his cooling designs have flown on NASA’s ECOSTRESS mission, A3D Manufacturing, and technical consulting through Innoventa LLC.
Jeremy Jones, MS, MBA
VP, Business Development
Jeremy has over 30 years experience building advanced materials businesses across global industries and markets in start-up and Fortune 500 companies. He has served in Executive, Corporate Officer and Board roles for companies such as Polaroid, Motorola, Cabot Microelectronics, Koch Industries and Naturally Advanced Technologies.
Jason Schmitt, MS, MBA
VP, Research & Development
As an undergraduate researcher in the Solid State and Material Science Lab at Kansas State University, Jason developed deep experience in SiC and aluminum nitride crystal growth, characterization, fabrication, and device processing. He graduated with Honors from the Warsaw University of Technology in Poland where he researched the growth and characterization of GaN and chalcopyrite crystals and then started Kansas Semiconductor, the predecessor to Nitride Global.
